Fees vary according to the length of your appointment. Routine appointments are 15 minutes long. Should you require more time with the doctor, please let the receptionist know when you make an appointment. Please see our Fees Schedule at reception for more details. There is usually a charge for seeing a Nurse and for ACC consultations.
Payment is required at the time of your visit. We accept cash, cheques, EFTPOS and major credit cards (except AMEX and Diners). There is a fee for accounts which are not paid within 14 days of invoiced date.
If you or your child need to see a doctor urgently, and no appointments are available, please inform reception and they will either get a nurse to speak to you or book you in with a nurse. The nurses are in close contact with the doctors and will confer with them as required.
A normal consult fee will apply if the GP sees you after the nurse assessment. If you are assessed by the nurse and given an appointment for the following day a usual nurse charge will apply. This service is designed for non-routine medical problems that cannot wait.
If you are unsure if you need to be seen urgently HEALTHLINE is a free 24 hour, health advice service where you can speak to a registered nurse. Ph. 0800 611 116. This service advises you on when and where you are best to access medical care, depending on your symptoms.
Under the Privacy Act we are required to be careful about who has access to personal medical information. We are forbidden to give out information, including test results, to anyone other than the person involved without their express consent. If you want someone else to be given your results please inform us in writing.
We are required to give information to various Government agencies including ACC, the Primary Health Organisation (PHO) and the District Health Board (Capital and Coast DHB).
Notification of test results
Your Doctor will endeavour to contact you when he/she receives your results. This may be by letter , text, patient portal, or phone-call. The waiting time for results depends on the type of test taken. When ordering tests we will give you an indication of when the results can be expected. This is usually about a week. Please ring the practice if you have not been contacted within the timeframe given to you.
