We want to make it easier for you to get in touch with us. We upgraded our phone systems so that we can answer your call more efficiently.
We also have Health Care Online, our Patient Portal, which allows you to contact your GP, book appointments, and see lab results and other clinical information, online. Going forward, as a portal user, you will be able to communicate with your GP in person, over the phone, or online. We may be able to save you a trip in to see us if you don’t need to, which may be more convenient for you.
We also want to make the most of your appointments, so that we use your time effectively and provide the care you need. We might contact you before your appointment and ask you to have some tests done, for example a blood or urine test, before your visit so that the information is at hand when you arrive for your appointment.
We want to make our practice a nice place to visit, by making our waiting room a calmer environment.
We want to make sure that you can access care when you urgently need it, and ensure that this care is with the person who can provide you with the best outcomes (e.g. Doctor, Nurse or another member of our team). If you call the practice to request an urgent appointment between 8am and 9am you will get to speak to either a GP or Practice Nurse, and we will arrange a same day appointment if it clinically justified. After 9am you will get to speak to a Practice Nurse.
We’re expanding our services so that you can receive some urgent care (such as intravenous antibiotics for certain conditions) from us, and avoid an unnecessary trip to the hospital.
Many of our patients have ongoing health conditions, and we want to make it easier to plan and manage your own health care so that you can maintain a high quality of life.
We will work with you to set goals around your health and wellbeing, and work with you on a regular basis to achieve these goals.
We will also enable the time that you need to manage your conditions in consultation with us.
When you do need to go to hospital or after hours, they will be able to see some of your health information, allowing them to provide better, more personalised care to you, if they have been granted access to your shared health record.
As well as treating you when you are sick, we want to help you to stay well.
We would love to hear your feedback.
