Menopause Clinic
Menopause can impact a woman’s mental and physical health and affect many areas of everyday life.
At Newlands Medical Centre we can provide assessment, education and support for our patients who are experiencing menopause.
Our nurse led clinic is run by two trained menopause specialist nurses – Julia and Rebecca. Rebecca is a Nurse Prescriber and works alongside Julia and Dr Tony Jackson to provide scripts as required.
A consultation with one of these nurses will include:
- A full menopause assessment
- Support and education about menopause and management of symptoms
- Advice on treatments available
- Script for Menopausal Hormone Therapy (MHT) if indicated
- A follow up appointment 6 to 8 weeks later
- Phone call support after initial appointment
*Please note the Nurse Menopause Clinic is for women aged 44 years to 58 years. If you are outside this age group, please see your GP.
Nurse Menopause Clinics:
Initial 45-60 minute appointment $120.00
Script charge (if required) $ 20.00
Follow up 30 minute appointment $ 60.00
If you have a Community Services Card the cost will be $40 for the initial appointment, $20 script charge and $20 for the follow-up appointment.

If you would prefer to see your own GP about menopause symptoms, please book directly with them. Please be aware a GP may need two consultations and may refer to you for a 30 minute assessment with the menopause nurses ($60), in addition to the GP consult fees. This is at the discretion of the individual GP.
